Privacy Policy for Homeschool Ledger

Corgrimm Tech ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Homeschool Ledger mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

By using Homeschool Ledger, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Personal Information

When you create an account and use Homeschool Ledger, we collect:

  • Account Information: Email address, password (encrypted)

  • Student Information: Student names, dates of birth, grade levels

  • Educational Records: Attendance records, lesson plans, grades, assignments, curriculum information, notes, and other academic data you enter

  • Payment Information: Processed through our third-party payment processor (RevenueCat); we do not store your credit card information

Automatically Collected Information

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers

  • Usage Data: App features used, frequency of use, crash reports, performance data

  • Analytics Data: Collected via Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to improve app functionality and user experience

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the App's core functionality

  • Enable cloud backup and synchronization of your educational records

  • Generate reports, transcripts, and compliance documentation

  • Process subscription payments and manage your account

  • Analyze app usage to improve features and user experience

  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues and bugs

  • Communicate with you about your account, updates, and support requests

3. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Homeschool Ledger is designed for use by parents, guardians, and educators who are 18 years of age or older. While the App stores educational information about students, including minors, all accounts are created and controlled exclusively by adults.

We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Parents and guardians input and manage all student data within the App. By using Homeschool Ledger, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and have the authority to manage the educational records of any students you add to the App.

We do not:

  • Allow children to create accounts

  • Market or advertise to children

  • Sell or share children's educational data with third parties

4. Third-Party Services

Homeschool Ledger uses the following third-party services that may collect, process, or store your information:

Firebase (Google LLC)

We use Firebase services for:

  • Authentication: Secure user account creation and login

  • Cloud Firestore: Cloud storage and synchronization of your educational data

  • Analytics: Understanding app usage patterns and improving functionality

  • Crashlytics: Detecting and fixing crashes and technical issues

RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat processes payment information through Apple App Store and Google Play Store. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy

We do not directly collect or store your payment card information. All payment processing is handled securely by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat.

5. Data Security

We take the security of your information seriously and implement appropriate technical and organizational measures:

  • Data is encrypted in transit using industry-standard SSL/TLS protocols

  • Data stored in Firebase Cloud Firestore is encrypted at rest

  • User passwords are securely hashed and never stored in plain text

  • Access to your data is restricted and protected by authentication

  • Regular security updates and monitoring

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information and educational records within 30 days, except as required by law or to resolve disputes.

Backup copies may persist in our systems for up to 90 days after account deletion but will not be accessible or used.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your information:

Access and Portability

You can access all your data within the App at any time. You may export your educational records and reports in PDF or other formats through the App's export features.

Correction

You can update, correct, or modify your information directly within the App.

Deletion

You may delete individual records, student profiles, or your entire account at any time through the App's settings. Contact us at corgrimm@gmail.com if you need assistance with data deletion.

Subscription Management

You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account settings.

8. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information or educational records with third parties for marketing purposes.

We may disclose your information only in the following circumstances:

  • With your consent: When you explicitly authorize us to share information

  • Service providers: With third-party services (Firebase, RevenueCat) that help us operate the App, under strict confidentiality agreements

  • Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or government regulation

  • Protection of rights: To protect the rights, property, or safety of Corgrimm Tech, our users, or the public

9. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

  • Right to know what personal information we collect and how it's used

  • Right to request deletion of your personal information

  • Right to opt-out of the sale of personal information (note: we do not sell personal information)

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of significant changes by:

  • Posting the updated policy in the App

  • Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy

  • Sending an email notification to your registered email address (for material changes)

Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
